Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to be seen?
Most commercial insurance plans do not require a physician referral to see an endocrinologist, though some HMO plans may. If you're unsure, please call the member services number on your insurance card before your appointment.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring all prior medical records, recent lab results, a current medication list, and your insurance card. New patient visits are comprehensive, so arriving about 15 minutes early to complete paperwork is appreciated.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, so we can offer the time slot to another patient. Repeated no-shows may result in a fee or dismissal from the practice.
What if I'm running late to my appointment?
Please try to arrive on time. Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to be rescheduled depending on provider availability.
How do I request a prescription refill?
The fastest way is through the Patient Portal. You can also call our office. Please allow 48–72 hours for processing, and note that controlled substances require an in-person visit. See our Prescription Refills page for details.
Do you accept my insurance?
We're in network with most major insurance plans. Visit our Insurance & Fees page for a full list, or call us to verify your specific plan.
Do you see self-pay or uninsured patients?
Yes. We believe cost should never be a barrier to quality endocrine care, and we offer self-pay options for patients without insurance or whose plan we don't currently accept. Call our office to discuss rates.
How do I message my doctor or view lab results?
The Patient Portal is the best way to securely message your care team, view lab results, and manage your health information between visits.
Do you offer telemedicine / virtual visits?
Yes, we offer telemedicine appointments for eligible visit types. Ask our office if a virtual visit is appropriate for your situation.
Are labs available on-site?
Yes. Quest Diagnostics is available on-site at both our Sugar Land and Memorial City locations, so you can often complete labs the same day as your visit without a separate trip.
Where are you located?
We have two Houston-area locations: Sugar Land (217 Promenade Way, Ste 501) and Memorial City (915 Gessner Rd., Ste 300). Visit our Contact & Locations page for maps, hours, and directions.
I'm a physician — how do I refer a patient?
We welcome physician referrals. Please see our Refer a Patient page for how to send records and get your patient scheduled.
